Day 1: From Marrakech to Boumalne Dades (330km / +7.5H)

This 4 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga starts with a departure in the morning at 8am from your Riad towards Dades Gorges. We will travel across the High Atlas Mountains and over its famous Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260m high),

WE will enjoy driving through the dramatic sceneries and the fascinating views of the Berber villages and the amazing landscape changing as the day progresses.

After crossing the mountains, We will be at the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah , the largest Kasbah in Morocco. Built by the last Berber chieftain El Glaoui Et-Hami in the late 13th century, it is now a UNESCO matrimonial historical site, which today still houses many Glaoui family members. WE will have a guided visit in this fortified Berber towm,

Nowadays this Kasbah is back drop for many famous international movies and series as: Glador, Game of thrones and so much more

We will have a break for lunch near the town in a local restaurant then continue to Ouazazate, This city known as the Hollyond of Africa and the gateway to the Sahara desert.

The journey continues to Dades Gorge through the road of “the Thousand Kasbahs”, Then to Kalaat Mgouna – famous for pink roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May then Dades valley . Overnight  Dades Gorge in a Riad.

Day 2: From Boumalne Dades To Merzouga Desert (270km / 6,5H).

Today we’ll start our desert trip from Boumalene Dades after breakfast, We head to Merzouga desert through the Berber village. Tinghir is a charming city by Todra Valley and palm tree droves.

We will visit the famous Todra Gorge where the cliffs are as high as 300m and only 10m apart. you have a chance to walk in the hiestest canyon in Morocco. We leave Todra and pass through many other Berber villages such as Tinjdad where we can stop for lunch or if you prefer continue to Rissani where you could have the local specialty Berber Pizza for lunch if we get there by midday.

After lunch we make our way to Merzouga Sahara to meet the camels who are waiting for you to join the camel trekking experience. The camels take you to a Berber camp in the middle of Erg chebbi golden sand dunes. The south east of Morocco desert is as large as 35 km long and 5 to 8 km wide, It’s also reputed as the highest sand dunes in North Africa. It is a unique and diverse environment.

There we set up the Berber tents with an additional restaurant and kitchen with western toilets. The tents are well equipped and we provide mattresses, blankets, and cushions. After dinner you gather around the fire and enjoy the desert night perhaps with traditional Berber drums. You also have the chance to participate in playing Berber traditional drums. you will be free to walk on sand dunes to see a magic starry sky with a high chance to see a shooting star.

Day 3: From Merzouga to Ouazazate (369km / 6H)

Today will start before sunrise. You will wake up to see a beautiful sunrise. The dunes are very orange with sunshine. After Breakfast, the camels will take you back to Merzouga while enjoying the landscape of the real desert.

Then Leave Sahara desert and start a long day trip back to Marrakech passing through. Alnif , where they celebrate the annual Berber wedding ceremony. Drive to Tazrin and Nekob town. Stop for lunch along the way. Pass through Draa valley, palm tree grooves where they produce date fruits. Pass through Ouarzazate and drive via High Atlas Mountains.
